ŠKODA AUTO a.s., Tř. Václav Klementa 869, 29301 Mladá Boleslav, identification no: 00177041, entered in the Commercial Register maintained by the Municipal Court in Prague, section B, file no. 332, (hereinafter as “the company"), launches the Laurin & Klement Award. The objective is to strengthen the link between theory and practice, to improve the quality of teaching and research and to improve the preparation of students for their future profession.
The aim of of the competition is to award authors of the best student and scientific final projects (bachelor and diploma). Especially, we award projects in technical areas that will contribute to the deepening of the cooperation between ŠKODA AUTO and the academic community.

4. Categories of the competition
The prize is awarded to students who submitted the best final projects, to those students who write about a topic listed by one of the organizational units of the company or a topic that has been approved by one of the organizational units of the company.
The winner of the competition will receive an amount of 80,000 CZK as a reward and will have the possibility to assist to a sporting, cultural or other event sponsored by ŠKODA AUTO (i.e. Tour de France, Ice Hockey World Championship, etc.).
Each of the finalists will receive an amount of CZK 30,000.
The reward shall be paid to the winner or to the finalists no later than December 31, 2019. The amount reduced by mandatory levies will be credited to the account in the amount corresponding to the current regulations
The competition can be attended by all natural persons whose final project is on a topic listed or approved by the company, who are university students or are enrolled at a university and who have concluded a final project contract with ŠKODA. Natural persons who are employees of ŠKODA AUTO and who write their final thesis in relation to the agreement on qualifications upgrading concluded with ŠKODA AUTO can not take part in the competition.
The projects can be written in Czech, Slovak, English or German. Another eligibility condition is a successful defense of the final thesis at the university by 30 September 2019 at the latest. Students will prove this condition by submitting a copy of their record book or a graduation diploma.
Competitors can enroll in the competition by filling in an electronic application sent to them by e-mail.
Each unit of the company nominates one or two finalists of the competition according to their discretion. A professional jury composed of representatives of ŠKODA AUTO units will decide on the winner of The best final project award. The jury must have an odd number of members. As part of the evaluation, each finalist will briefly present his project to the jury and answer questions of the jury’s members. The jury will decide on the winner by voting. In the case of equality of votes, the jury decides by a new vote – they’ll vote only on those competitors who have received the same number of votes.
The winners of the competition and the finalists can be contacted by media and can be promoted based on their participation in the competition. By submitting the application, they grant the company consent within the given publicity of the results of the Laurin & Klement’s Award
At the same time the competitor provides for the above mentioned purposes his/her personal data (hereinafter “data") and grants permission that these data would be processed by its collection and saving in compliance with effective legislation (general regulation No. 2016/679 on collection of personal data and Act No. 101/2000 Coll., about protection of personal data, as amended).
Such consent is granted by the competitor according to this article with no territorial or temporal restriction – the approval lasts after the competition’s end. Photos of the competitor will be processed as personal data by the ŠKODA AUTO company as the administrator of personal data to fulfil the above mentioned purpose in compliance with legal regulations concerning the personal data protection. The consent can be removed at any time by the competitor in written form sent to the administrator’s address or to email address email@example.com, and thus even before the end of the time period for which it was granted. Removal of the consent does not affect legality of personal data processing before the removal. In case of the consent’s removal, ŠKODA AUTO reserves the right to exclude the competitor from the competition. In case of any questions concerning processing of competitors’ personal data, the competitor can contact the administrator’s representative for personal data protection and thus on email address firstname.lastname@example.org.
The company is not responsible for processing or assessing of any inaccurate piece of information or any other mistake which will be submitted within an application. The organizer is not responsible for any problems or technical failures which might cause that an individual cannot apply for the competition.
By submitting an application, the company is not granted any transferable or license rights of the author or originator. The company is not responsible for intellectual property protection.
By submitting the application, the competitors declare that they have become familiar with the rules and conditions of the competition and that they agree with them.
The company reserves the right to change these rules during the competition and at the same time reserves the right to decide in all matters connected to the organization of the competition, its interruption or cancellation included.
