While reading our blog, you might have learnt how Trainees live in Mladá Boleslav, which projects they participate in and even from which bit of the Earth they come from. However, what about the mobility? Could this be exceptional as well? Come take a look how Trainees commute to their workplace.
This is a true gem of Mladá Boleslav for bike enthusiasts. Rekola is a popular bikesharing company, famous for their jazzy pink bikes. You may find them in Prague, Brno and nowadays also in Mladá Boleslav as their 10th city of operation in the Czech Republic. As the majority of Trainees live in Mladá Boleslav it is natural that this is the most favourite mean of transport for them. Using Rekola is pretty simple. You can find the nearest bike via the smartphone app Rekola and scan the QR code of a chosen bike, which will allow you to unlock it. Moreover, the best thing about all of this is that the first 15 minutes of every ride in Mladá Boleslav are free of charge as they are covered by the ŠKODA AUTO endowment fund. It is also possible to hire electric bikes, however, these ones are always at your own expense.
For those of us (and of course not only Trainees) living in Prague, there is also a solution by ŠKODA AUTO. Every working day, there are two buses going from Prague, Černý Most to Mladá Boleslav and two buses going back. Buses stop near every ŠKODA facility. One ride costs 65 CZK so it is more than reasonable. All you need to do is to have your ŠKODA employee card with you.
For the Instagram addicted – yes, there is free Wi-Fi on-board.
An even cheaper option, but not that regular and reliable as going by bus, is carpooling. You may find many Facebook groups focused on ridesharing to Mladá Boleslav as well as apps. The largest one is called BlaBlaCar where you may find many rides. You just pick the one which suits you the best. This is also a nice way to spare some money if you commute to work by car.
Are you still studying in Prague and do you need a car for your trip? Book a car via Uniqway! It is a unique carsharing platform only for university students and employees. Some time ago, there was a team of students of Czech Technical University in Prague, Czech University of Life Sciences Prague and University of Economics, Prague who brought their idea of creating a students’ carsharing company to Mladá Boleslav’s ŠKODA AUTO. Since then, they have been working together with Prague’s ŠKODA AUTO Digilab. The project itself started in October 2018. Today, for a reasonable price, you may hire one of the 20 cars available. There are 15 FABIA vehicles, 4 pieces of SCALA and a KAMIQ. Don’t worry about your comfort and connectivity as every model is in Style trim. You can also borrow a roof box for your winter ski trips. Mobility has never been so easy to achieve!
