I did it! I passed the assessment center and started thinking about what I needed to pack. As I sat on the train to Mladá Boleslav, ready to move to a new city and start my journey as a Škoda Trainee, my feelings were somewhere between excitement and anxiety. This meant my thoughts were still wrapped around one question: ‘’what will I be doing there?”
Part of the Trainee Program is the so-called dealership network experience. For three days, trainees join a ŠKODA AUTO dealership in a country where they speak the language–in my case, this meant that I went to A-Point in Amsterdam. A-Point Amsterdam is one of the largest ŠKODA AUTO dealerships in the Netherlands and a part of Pon Holdings, the exclusive Dutch importer of VW GROUP vehicles.
Trainee program has been in ŠKODA for 25 incredible years and I feel very lucky to be part of this special club. When I was joining our trainee family 2 months ago, my expectations were high, but I could never imagine how the reality would actually surpassed them. Has the trainee program always been at this level? Has anything changed?
We met in 2013, during Zuzana’s Trainee Program. I was already one year after my Trainee Program, working as a specialist of employee benefits and HR projects. She was a fresh graduate and she had her target position at the same department, as a HR lawyer. We were in one office, sharing one long table. I didn’t really wanted to share my long table with someone else, so I just shortened her part of the table before she joined our office.

It is an early autumn morning, 5:30 on the dot, and my alarm clock rings loud enough to wake even trees. It might know why. Other Trainees wake up at a similar time. Why? Today after breakfast its no offices and production halls for us. We’re meeting at the Gate 11 and early in the morning we ride to the Kochánky town, where we are supposed to plant as many trees as we can within the CSR project “ŠKODA stromky” (ŠKODA trees). I hope we have an extraordinary day full of fun ahead of us, all in the fresh forest air.
