What will you do with us?
In this position, you will be a key contributor to the development and management of AI in procurement across the VWG Group. Your work will combine financial analysis, project management, strategic planning and international communication.You will act as a “translator” between AI, finance and procurement. You will ensure that VWG invests time and money only in AI projects that make financial and strategic sense.
Evaluation and analysis of AI projects (Business Cases)
- Assess project viability: You will evaluate proposed AI projects – their benefits, costs, risks and financial calculations.
- Safeguard the strategy: You will verify the alignment of proposed projects with VWG procurement’s strategic objectives.
- Consult with experts: You will cooperate with Finance and IT to evaluate the impacts and benefits of AI solutions.
Management and steering of the AI project portfolio
- Maintain an overview: You will manage the portfolio of AI projects (use cases) across VWG brands and monitor their development phase and results.
- Prepare project decisions: You will prepare materials for decisions on whether to launch, pause or terminate a project.
- Cross-group cooperation and travel
- Define requirements: You will work with representatives of the brands’ procurement organizations to define their needs and specify the scope of AI projects.
- Travel to meet colleagues: You will regularly travel to the locations of other VWG brands to gather requirements and coordinate projects.
- Reporting, management support and trend monitoring
- Prepare materials for management: You will support the coordinator in preparing reports and presentations for the management of Škoda Auto and VWG Group Procurement.
- Monitor trends: You will monitor the development of new AI tools on the market that can be used in procurement.
What do you need to know, have and be able to do?
You need to combine technical understanding of AI, financial and analytical thinking, project management and excellent communication.
Professional knowledge (What you need to know)
- Overview of AI and technologies: You do not need to be a programmer, but you must understand AI, machine learning (ML) and LLMs and their use in process automation.
- Financial literacy and preparation of Business Cases: You must be able to calculate ROI and TCO, estimate the financial benefits of a project and identify financial risks.
- Knowledge of procurement processes: Knowledge of corporate procurement (negotiation, sourcing, suppliers, contracts) is an advantage so that you can assess where AI can genuinely help buyers.
- Project management methodologies: Knowledge of the project lifecycle phases from idea through development and testing to implementation and evaluation.
Practical skills (What you need to be able to do)
- Analytical thinking: Ability to analyze complex data and draw a clear conclusion from it.
- Requirements gathering and scope definition: Ability to understand the needs of buyers, translate them into an assignment for IT and clearly define the project objective.
- Presentation skills and reporting: Ability to “sell” results and data. You must be able to explain materials for top management of Škoda Auto and VWG simply and in a visually appealing way.
- Stakeholder management: Ability to communicate diplomatically with different groups of people – from IT specialists and controllers to managers from different countries.
Languages and IT tools
- Excellent English skills (C1): You will communicate across the VWG Group on a daily basis. English is the main working language.
- German (strong advantage): Knowledge of German will make your work and communication with VWG headquarters easier.
- Advanced MS Office skills:
- Excel for financial calculations and analyses.
- PowerPoint for preparing presentations for management.
- Knowledge of project management tools (Jira, Confluence) or data visualization tools (Power BI) is an advantage.

- Willingness to travel: The position requires regular travel to other brands within the Group (e.g. to Wolfsburg).
- Proactivity and curiosity: AI is developing rapidly – you must be willing to keep learning and follow trends.
