When you join the Ramp-Up Management Department, you become part of a team that coordinates production and logistics activities across the entire company. Your task will be to ensure that the launch of new vehicles on the market runs smoothly, on time, and meets all project, product and quality targets.
Become part of a team that manages the ramp-ups of all models, including foreign projects. Plan strategic milestones, oversee their fulfillment and coordinate cooperation between development, production, quality, logistics and other departments – in the Czech Republic and abroad. Every new model needs someone to release it into the world. Will it be you?
What does ramp-up management mean at Škoda Auto?
-
Coordination of ramp-up activities
All phases of ramp-up require precise preparation of production, technologies and people. That is exactly the task for our ramp-up teams.
-
Cooperation across the company
To make sure everything arrives at the right place at the right time and in the required quality, we work daily with development, logistics, purchasing and quality teams.
-
Planning milestones of new projects
We regularly organize meetings attended by board members, where we present the status of domestic and foreign projects and approve key milestones in line with current developments.
-
Approval of ramp-up costs
In cooperation with the production planning, quality, purchasing and logistics departments, we plan and approve ramp-up curves for individual projects. At the same time, we plan budgets and manage the drawing of ramp-up costs in connection with the individual milestones.
-
Coordination of start of production
Before the start of production itself, we thoroughly verify the readiness of the production lines and the quality of parts in our plants and at external suppliers.
-
Support for foreign plants
We coordinate ramp-ups of new models both in the Czech Republic and abroad – across different model lines and locations. Everywhere, we provide support throughout the entire model year cycle and model care.
-
Preparation of show and press cars
Our work is visible on the outside as well. We arrange the preparation of show and press vehicles that represent the Škoda Auto brand. Thanks to this, you can see our cars at global events such as the Ice Hockey World Championship or the Tour de France.

“As a project manager, you need to have an overview of everything that’s happening in the project. And the moment something starts heading in a critical direction, you have to understand the issue, step in in time and find a solution.”
Specialist for special ramp-up projects
What kinds of projects will you join?
You can work on different types of projects across model lines, platforms, regions and life-cycle phases.

1. Across model lines
At Škoda Auto, we produce a wide range of models – from the smallest ones like Fabia or Epiq, through family cars like Octavia and Enyaq, all the way to flagships such as Kodiaq, Superb and in the future also Space BEV. Do you have your favorite? Get involved in coordinating its ramp-up and watch live, with your own active involvement, how it moves from drawings and timing plans to the production line. Thanks to regular rotations, you can work on different models, both in Czech and foreign plants.
2. Old world or new? Here we have both
Are you a fan of electromobility or more of a supporter of the latest generation of combustion engines? Our department ramps up all models without distinction. Each has its specifics that are waiting for you to discover. And if you can’t choose a favorite, that’s fine. In Mladá Boleslav you’ll find a real unique feature: from a single production line, both electric and combustion cars roll off together.
3. Regular care or major refresh? Ramp-up is just the beginning
Every project goes through several phases over its life cycle. After the first ramp-up, which is usually the most demanding, comes regular model care, during which we implement various legal requirements or improvements for customers. Every few years, each model needs a refresh with a facelift. Whichever phase you join, you’re sure to experience many interesting moments. The best thing is to see them all – watch the first series-production car arrive on the line, and a few years later nostalgically see the last one leave the hall. Our work doesn’t end there, either. Its successor is already waiting in the starting blocks.
4. In the Czech Republic or abroad
Škoda Auto’s main production plants are in the Czech Republic, but they are far from the only ones. Besides neighboring Slovakia, we also build our cars in more exotic countries such as Kazakhstan, Vietnam or India. Are you interested in career opportunities abroad? Then the ramp-up of models in these regions might be just the right challenge for you.

That’s how many cars were produced in 2024 at the two Škoda Auto plants in India. In addition to the Slavia and Kushaq models, the Kylag was also launched on the market in 2024. All of these vehicles were built specifically for the Indian market.
Pre-series Production Center
Do you want to be among the first to see and influence new car models before they are launched on the market? Join the pre-series production center and kick-start your career in a team where innovation becomes reality.
What can you look forward to at Škoda Auto?
Do the work you love, get fairly rewarded for it and enjoy plenty of extra perks.

“We started production of the Kylag model earlier than planned, mainly thanks to the huge commitment of the entire project team. It was great to see the energy and motivation with which they threw themselves into everything.”
Project Manager
How will working in ramp-up management affect you?
Be there at the birth of new projects
Every new project needs someone to guide it through all phases from the first concepts to the production line. Your task will be to coordinate the main steps and decide when it’s time to move on. Your work thus opens the way to series production.
Learn everything. About everything
You’ll monitor quality tests, project readiness and its costs. Besides that, you’ll also oversee the fulfillment of all milestones. Missing a single deadline can delay the whole project. But it can also be brought forward. Can you do that?
Coordinate a giant mechanism across the world
From Mladá Boleslav to Pune. Your task will be to negotiate with partners from specialist areas in all regions and plants where our cars are built. You’ll create a network of contacts around the world and together you’ll tackle all challenges.
From the big picture to the detail
One day you’ll be preparing a presentation for the Škoda Auto Board. The next day you’ll be dealing with a delayed delivery of the last missing part. Everything has to fit. Everything has to make sense. The new car gets the green light.

“I make sure the car works flawlessly in terms of software and control units. In the pre-series production phase, I coordinate the elimination of software issues so that they don’t appear in regular operation.”
