What will you do with us?
In this role, you will guide purchasers through the world of AI and act as the main AI ambassador for VWG purchasing teams. Your task will not be to develop AI, but to teach people how to use it effectively, remove their concerns about new technologies, and build a strong user community.
Change management and implementation of AI tools
- Implement breakthrough tools: You will manage programs for the successful deployment of group-wide AI tools, such as Microsoft Copilot, within purchasing teams.
- Tailor the strategy to people: You will design different approaches and plans for different employee groups and project phases to make the transition to AI as smooth as possible.
- Remove barriers and concerns: You will identify why people in brand purchasing teams have concerns about AI or do not use new tools, and propose solutions, such as better explanation of benefits or configuration adjustments.
Training, workshops, and building AI literacy
- Teach and train: You will organize and facilitate workshops, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing meetings where you will show purchasers how AI can save them time and effort.
- Build a knowledge library: You will create and manage a knowledge base with guides, best practices, and successful examples so purchasers know where to find help and inspiration.
Tracking success and measuring adoption
- Monitor the numbers: You will track and report adoption metrics, such as how many people actually use a given AI tool and how often.
- Improve programs: Based on this data, you will evaluate whether your training and change programs are working and continuously improve them.
Inspiration, communication, and personal presence at the brands
- Spread enthusiasm and trends: You will follow the latest AI trends relevant to purchasing and regularly inspire purchasing teams with interesting content and news.
- Build trust directly on site: Personal contact is key in this role. You will regularly travel to brand locations, for example in Germany, because building trust and relationships with local teams in the field is the foundation of successful change management.
What knowledge, experience, and skills do you need?
This position requires an understanding of human psychology in accepting change, teaching talent, and enthusiasm for modern AI tools.
Professional knowledge
- Change management methodologies: You must have both theoretical and practical command of frameworks for implementing change in organizations, such as the ADKAR methodology – Awareness, Desire, Knowledge, Ability, Reinforcement – or Kotter’s model.
- Generative AI and productivity tools: You must have in-depth knowledge of tools such as Microsoft Copilot for M365, ChatGPT, and other AI assistants — how they work, what their limitations are, and how they can be used for office work, including emails, presentations, data analysis, and meeting summaries.
- Principles of adult learning: You must know how adults absorb new information, how to design effective training for them, and how so-called micro-learning works, meaning short, targeted training sessions.
- Basics of the purchasing environment: You should understand the typical working day of a purchaser so that you can place AI tools in the context of their real work.
Practical skills
- Excellent presentation and training skills: You must be able to speak in front of people, keep their attention both in person and online via MS Teams, and explain complex technological concepts simply and enthusiastically.
- Content creation and knowledge management: The ability to write easy-to-read guides, record short instructional videos, write newsletters, and structure a knowledge database so that people can easily find what they need.
- Barrier analysis and empathetic listening: The ability to uncover hidden resistance to change and, through workshops and conversations, determine whether people are not using AI because of reluctance, fear, lack of time, or incorrect settings, and act accordingly.
- Working with adoption data: The ability to interpret charts and reports, such as how many Copilot licenses are actively being used, and adjust the training strategy based on this data.
Languages and IT tools
- English at C1 level, active use: You will train and communicate with colleagues from different countries. English is the main training language.
- German, a major advantage: German is a significant plus for building trust within German purchasing organizations such as VW, Audi, and Porsche.
Key IT tools:
- Microsoft Copilot and the M365 tool family, including MS Teams, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
- Tools for creating knowledge bases and communities, such as SharePoint, Confluence, and MS Viva Engage / Yammer.
- A basic understanding of Power BI for monitoring dashboards with adoption metrics.
Personal qualities
- A high level of empathy and patience: You will meet people who are skeptical of AI or afraid of it — you must listen to them without judgment and patiently guide them through the process.
- Technology enthusiast: You must have natural curiosity, continuously try out new AI features, and pass this enthusiasm on to others.
- Charisma and the ability to build communities: You must be someone people trust and like to follow, and be able to create a network of “AI champions” — enthusiasts within the brands who will continue to spread AI further.
- Passion for travel: Since personal presence at brand locations is key to building trust, you must be prepared for frequent business trips.
