Join our team

Be the heart and mind behind every Škoda model that comes off the production line, and join us in shaping the future of the automotive industry.

What does a Technical Engineer do?

Imagine a car just got off the assembly line, made from components you helped create. It’s a priceless feeling! Become a development engineer and shape our vehicles, from headlights and radiators to chassis and wheels. Or would you prefer to improve the assembly line, plan manufacturing, and streamline automation or logistics? You can also explore the possibilities of Industry 4.0 with us. The entire Volkswagen Group will be by your side – a car is a team project that’s a joy to create.

What abilities should you have?

Reliability, attention to detail, precision, communication, and organizational talent. These are the key skills no technician can do without – after all, the entire production process depends on them. The result of your precise work? Vehicles that will carry your personal touch.

Technical Development

From the first sketch to the final tests. That’s how we would summarize the work of technical development, which plays a crucial role in the creation of every new Škoda Auto model.

At the heart of the department are teams of passionate professionals dedicated to each phase of vehicle development. Whether it’s the initial brief, planning, design, concept development, or the final crash tests and various trials, we always use the most advanced methods and technologies.

Engineering

This department is responsible for ensuring the smooth production of every vehicle. It all starts with the logistics of materials, parts, and components and ends with their assembly. But that’s not all. We design and implement new technologies to bring vehicle electronics to life, transfer insights from extensive analyses into car assembly, or even into a new paint shop. We pride ourselves on using the best technologies and continuously create new positions that cover a wide range of opportunities across various fields.

Production

Production is one of the key departments at Škoda Auto. Without it, none of our models would come to life – whether it’s the electric ENYAQ, the new OCTAVIA, or the KAROQ SUV.

Škoda's modern production plants are not only in Mladá Boleslav but also in Kvasiny and Vrchlabí. Each factory provides a clean and highly modern environment, where automation is seamlessly combined with the precise work of our employees. Our people are always our top priority, and while we use many automated machines in production, the human element remains the most important.

Stories from the world of technology

Fully Autonomous Car? We Can Build It Today

Assistance systems park our cars, speed them up, and slow them down. In a way, they’re watching over us. But who designs and improves these helpful technologies at Škoda Auto? Meet Robert Pěnička, a senior project manager for vehicle electrical and electronic systems, who has been dedicated to this field for 24 years. What exactly do vehicles handle for us? And what does the future hold for this exciting industry?

Digital Factory Simplifies Car Production

Virtual simulations, production line optimization, and experiments with artificial intelligence – all of these are now part of the digital factory, a phenomenon fundamentally transforming the way production planning is approached at Škoda Auto. This daily challenge is taken on by a team including Michal Menšík, Daniela Prskavcová, and Michal Lackovič. How do they envision the future of car manufacturing in the digital era, and what do they love most about their work?

Robotics is Relieving Us of Work Routines

Petr Hynek makes sure that production processes are not only efficient but also future-ready. He has been driving innovation at Škoda Auto since 2006. Yet, after nearly two decades, he continues to explore and experiment – currently, for instance, he is testing “robotic dogs”. How is he transforming the production processes of this Czech car manufacturer?

Dr. Martin Hrdlička

"You enter Mladá Boleslav, just a small town, but a whole world opens up to you."

MARTIN HRDLIČKA Head of chassis and powertrain development
