Development Engineer - HW Component Release for MEB+ Batteries (m/f)

In this role, you coordinate and guide the development, release, and technical alignment of next‑generation MEB+ battery.

You prepare technical analyses, evaluate supplier solutions, and support the smooth industrialization of batteries.

 

What will be your responsibilities?

  • Coordinate know‑how transfer between VW Technical Development and Škoda Technical Development for MEB+ battery cell EU/components
  • Support hardware components from early prototype stages through series production
  • Support the construction, release process, and development timing for MEB+ battery cells and related components
  • Participate in international meetings, supplier visits, and test activities, representing Škoda in Group‑wide engineering environments

 

What skills, experience, and qualifications do you need? 

  • You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, materials science, or a related technical field
  • You have experience in battery development, preferably in high‑voltage systems, cell technology, or component integration
  • You understand development and release processes for automotive components and are comfortable coordinating technical documentation and release steps

 

You work in an organized and structured way and can create time plans, technical proposals, and status reports independently

  • You are familiar with BEV powertrain fundamentals, especially high‑voltage battery systems
  • You are willing to travel for VW Group meetings, workshops, and supplier visits when required
  • Fluent Czech language
  • Fluent German or English language for daily communication with colleagues and suppliers from abroad. Even some of our internal meetings are led in AJ/NJ 
  • A minimum of: 3–5 years of professional experience 
  • Enthusiasm for the automotive area as well as for new technological solutions

  • More flexible working hours 7.5 working hours per day. The fixed part of the floating time lasts from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Apart from this, it's up to you whether you are rather an early bird or work prefer working longer until the afternoon.
  • We are providing you the opportunity of a long-term stay abroad (1-2 years), and you can take your family with you. Get new life as well as work experience beyond the Czech Republic. 
  • You will get the opportunity of enhancing your project management skills, acquiring new management skills or brushing up on a foreign language. There are training schemes available for you to help you with these matters.
